evidently i’m the average, unaware human…

87 times my son said “Mom, you HAVE to watch this movie” Zeitgeist and so I finally did. Wow. Just wow. My first inclination is to be simply speechless. My second reaction is an avalanche of questions and a sincere desire to learn more.

From the official website, here’s an overview: “ Zeitgeist, The Movie’ and ‘Zeitgeist: Addendum’ were created as Not-for-Profit expressions to communicate what the author felt were highly important social understandings which most humans are generally not aware of. The first film focuses on suppressed historical & modern information about currently dominant social institutions, while also exploring what could be in store for humanity if the power structures at large continue
their patterns of self-interest, corruption, and consolidation. “

“The second film, Zeitgeist: Addendum, attempts to locate the root causes
of this pervasive social corruption, while offering a solution. This solution is not based on politics, morality, laws, or any other “establishment” notions of human affairs, but rather on a modern, non-superstitious based understanding of what we are and how we align with nature, to which we are a part. The work advocates a new social system which is updated to present day knowledge, highly influenced by the life long work of Jacque Fresco and The Venus Project.”

I’ve been reading through the Q&A section of the site and found this rather impressive presentation as well. It’s given by Richard Gage, an AIA Architect  and gives a mind-blowing technical analysis of the World Trade Center disaster.

Just so you know, I’ve never been (or aspired to be) any kind of activist. Like the average, unaware human, I’ve been too busy working and caring for a family. I’m not posting this because I have an agenda, I’m posting it because I’m shocked and horrified and well…simply stunned. I believe other people like me need to hear this story.

Check it out for yourself and see what you think…certainly worth pondr-ing…

Just a silly thought…

On pears: ”They’re ripe for half an hour, and you’re never there. They’re like a rock or they’re mush. You think, I’ll take them home and they’ll ripen up. But you put them in the bowl at home, and they sit there going: No! No! Don’t ripen yet, don’t ripen yet. Wait til he goes out the room. Now ripen! Now now now!”

Thoreau

All endeavor calls for the ability to tramp the last mile, shape the last plan, endure the last hours toil. The fight to the finish spirit is the one characteristic we must posses if we are to face the future as finishers.

Henry David Thoreau

Peace

Peace is not an absence of war, it is a virtue, a state of mind, a disposition for benevolence, confidence, justice.
